In this section of the Website we will provide

resources and tools for networking and becomming informed about

things relating to the Earth......the environment, ecology, eco-activism,

organic farming, sustainable livinig, intentional community, eco villages,

and such will be the focus.....

Networking Tools: There are four formidable networking tools on the Internet. They are : (1) e-mail discussion groups --known as 'mail listserves' or just 'listserves', (2) 'Newsgroups', (3) Message Boards, and (4) Chat rooms. These names are rather inept, but in reality they are very good networking tools. There are tens of thousands of different discussion topics --or general subject 'area' forums already established with the e-mail discussion groups and Newsgroups .....(understand that 'newsgroups' forums are definitely not just about 'news'! --but are discussion forums on just about any subject).....

The best way to find out what's going on in the Newsgroups arena is to go to the Deja News site and explore from there. You can also go to Tile.net ....or Topica [previously Liszt]....and explore by subject and so on....out of 20 thousand areas of discussion there shouldn't be a problem finding one that's tailored to your liking.....

When the Earth is 'going down the tubes' due to Greed, Anger, and Delusion as it is in these times, Meaningful Communication is a crucial thing.....we need to hone our communication skills.....in order to tune in to what's happening.....and to give input from what we know......

Try starting with the Rainbow Newsgroup...its very active....ie...interactive.....

E-mail discussions (mail listserves) is a convient forum.....since once you sign up for a particular forum all the messages for the day are delivered right to your e-mail inbox. You can really learn a lot within your own field of interest by reading the messages that are posted....and of course you can ask your own questions....and most likely get quick responses from knowledgable people.....or post your own responses....and, thus, share your own special knowledge or bit of wisdom with others.....

It is even possible to take part in e-mail discussion groups without connecting to the Internet! With Juno Free e-mail service all that is needed is a computer with a modem and a telephone connection. This is a completely free e-mail service and yes, you do not need to be connected to the Internet. If you're reading this, you probably have an Internet account; but then, maybe you're at a friend's computer; in which case this could be a valuable bit of information. Or, maybe you know someone who has a computer with modem, but can't really afford the monthly Internet fee. If you click the Juno link above or log onto their website (www.juno.com) at another time you can download the software to make it work.....
